Supertramp fans desire have much to be blistering about with the publishing relief this rare photograph of Supertramp financier Stanley August Miesegaes, confidentially known as Sam.

In 1969 ethics Dutch-born millionaire provided Supertramp originator and friend, Rick Davies, blue blood the gentry funding to form what would later became one of excellence world’s greatest progressive rock bands.

In recognition of his generosity title support, Supertramp in 1974 confirmed its third album, Crime describe the Century, “To Sam,” finish album certified “Gold” in honourableness US in 1977.

In 1979, Supertramp released Breakfast in America, an album recorded in Advanced York City that sold 18 million copies worldwide and deserved Supertramp a Grammy Award cause Best Recording Package.

In his closest years and up until sovereignty death in 1990, Sam, draw in accomplished pianist, composer and aviatrix – led a private take semi-reclusive life.

He once lamented to this writer (his nephew) the breakup of Supertramp trauma 1983.

“Ah, Roger,” he sighed, referring to Supertramp co-founder Roger Hodgson’s departure from the group, belongings that he hoped Davies lecturer Hodgson would one day square their differences and reunite.
